Today we are going to share some practical tips to help you decorate your windows with our curtains.
Things to consider about measurements
First, you need to know the width of your window. Multiply this measurement by two: this will give you the amount of curtain fabric you need to make your window look beautiful.
All our curtains are 1.40 m wide, so if your window measures around 140/150 cm, which is the most standard window size, 2 curtains will be enough.
If your window is larger than the standard size and is more than 2 metres wide, you can combine different curtain qualities on the same curtain pole. For example, you can use a thicker curtain on the sides, either plain or printed, and two sheer or translucent curtains in the centre. In this case, you will need 4 units.
What type of fabric is best for my home?
Curtains help us decorate our home and provide privacy. Some curtains can even help protect us from the sun and the cold.
Depending on the amount of light that enters through your windows, you should choose a lighter or thicker fabric.
But don’t worry: at Tramas, we have curtains for every type of window.
- Sheer curtains
- Translucent curtains
- Blackout curtains
- Printed curtains
Sheer curtains
Sheer curtains allow light to pass through and create a light, airy atmosphere. They are especially recommended for rooms with little natural light.
They have a fine fabric that allows you to make the most of the light entering your home. Most of our sheer curtains are plain, although we also offer some printed designs.
The shade you choose will depend on the colour palette of each room. Neutral colours such as natural tones, taupe or grey are always a safe choice. However, our colour range is so wide that you will be able to choose the option that best suits your style.
Translucent curtains
Translucent curtains allow light to pass through, although they are slightly thicker than sheer curtains. This means they provide more privacy, as people outside your window will not be able to see inside as easily, unlike with sheer curtains.
In this type of curtain, we offer both plain and printed models. It is a very versatile curtain that gives you many decorative possibilities.
We have a very wide colour range, from natural tones, greys, mauves, whites and sand tones to stronger colours such as reds, pinks and blues.
These curtains are suitable for both the living room and the bedroom.
Blackout curtains
Blackout curtains do not allow light to pass through. They are recommended for windows without shutters, as they block out all or almost all the light, depending on the model.
They are thicker, more elaborate and heavier curtains. We offer printed blackout curtains that coordinate with bedspreads and cushions, in fabrics such as chenille, velvet and jacquard. These are very elegant and decorative curtains.
We also offer plain curtains in BLACKOUT fabric, specifically designed to create a shutter-like effect and completely cover the light coming through the window.
These are the type of curtains used by hotels in their rooms so guests can rest without being disturbed by the sunlight.
Printed curtains
Printed curtains are another decorative option. This type of product is recommended for large rooms with plenty of space, as prints and dark colours can visually reduce the size of a room.
They can be coordinated with plain curtains, as well as with plain and printed cushions.
Our printed curtains usually feature the same designs as our boutí bedspreads. Although they are more commonly recommended for bedrooms, they can also look good in a playroom, study, kitchen or living room.
Their semi-translucent fabric allows light to pass through while still providing privacy.
Curtains at affordable prices
The prices of our curtains range from €10 to €18 per unit, so you will not find better curtains at a lower price.
You can decorate any room in your home from just €10.
Any of our curtains is a great choice.
Tip: combine 4 curtains on the same pole
This trick of placing 4 curtains on the same curtain pole works really well. That way, you do not need to install a double pole, which is more expensive and less practical.
You will have 2 curtains acting as decorative side panels and 2 curtains in the centre acting as sheers.
They can also be opened easily thanks to the metal eyelets that all our curtains have.
It is always a good idea to combine your curtains with a matching cushion, creating harmony in the room’s colours, whether in the living room or bedroom.

Washing tips
All our curtains are made from 100% polyester, so they can be machine washed in cold water without any problem.
It is best to wash them only with other curtains.
Tip: avoid ironing your curtains
To avoid the tedious task of ironing curtains, we recommend washing them in the washing machine with a gentle wash and a light spin cycle, then hanging them directly on the curtain pole.
This way, the moisture will act like an iron and you will save yourself this time-consuming task.
